Our Choir on Easter Sunday 2024

Choir members at a Summer Celebration, 2024

Music

Our goal is to have music enhance the worship service and bring us closer to God.  Music is intimately bound with the proclamation of the Word, an opportunity for us to express through hymns, anthems and liturgy those feelings that are often difficult to express with words. The music of the Christian faith is meant to deepen and enrich our worship experience. Music has the ability to make us of one heart and voice, a natural response to our living faith.

Our deep love and use of our rich sacred classical selections on through the best of many modern arrangements. Our spiritual mission is to feed every person who comes to the door, regardless of their musical backgrounds and to offer our best and our finest in spiritual worship to God and our community.

We experiment with hymns from a variety of sources beyond the Episcopal hymnal, and from time to time incorporate musical instruments played by parishioners or guest musicians.

We welcome all who desire to “sing a joyful noise onto the Lord” into our choir and passionately work diligently to develop and improve our choral skills.   We joyfully welcome all musicians and singers to employ their various gifts in worship and use their gifts, as we seek God’s grace and glory in all we do and share God’s joy and presence in our music ministry.

From September through May our choir rehearsals are 10 to 11:30 AM on Saturday and the choir meets at 9 AM on Sundays to warm up and rehearse for a half hour.

Our Worship in the park services happen June, July, and August and David, our Music Director is in the park the first two Sundays of those months leading the Music on a restored Korean-War vintage Estey military “field reed-organ”.
